Keonjhar, Feb 11: Miscreants allegedly looted cash worth Rs 9.66 lakh from the strong room of Palashpanga branch of Bank of India in the district. It is suspected that the loot took place on the Sunday night as the bank was closed on Saturday and Sunday.
As per reports, miscreants broke through the bank and snapped the wirers of the CCTVs installed in the bank premises. They later cut though the strong room with gas cutter and decamped with the cash.
The miscreants have also dumped around Rs 44000 all in coins behind the bank before escaping from the spot. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
