Odisha:Met predicts rain in several areas from Feb 23

Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Light to moderate rain/thundershower is likely to occur in several districts of Odisha between February 23 and 25, the Regional Meteorological Centre predicted. “ Under the influence of likely passage of a western disturbance and low level southeasterly/easterly wind flow strong moisture convergence very likely to took place and an wet spell with thunderstorm activity like to occur over the districts of Odisha during 23 to 26 February,” said a release of Met. Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha on February 23. Similarly light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and at one or two places over rest districts of Odisha on February 24. “Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places likely over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh,” said the release.
