Odisha shivers as cold wave returns, no respite till one week

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: Most parts of Odisha were swept by a cold wave on Sunday as night temperature dropped below 10 degree Celsius at 13 places while Daringbadi experienced snowfall. The regional met office predicts similar weather condition across the state for a week. Today’s morning bulletin said Sonepur recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 04.8 degree Celcius. Besides, the mercury dropped below 10 degree Celcius at 12 places, including Phulbani (05.0), Angul (06.0), Titlagarh (06.5), Daringbadi (07.2), Jharsuguda (08.4), Keonjhargarh (08.8), Sambalpur (09.0), Koraput (09.0), Balangiri (09.0), Bhawanipatna (09.3), Sundergarh (09.5),  Balasore(9.8). The night temperature in Bhubaneswar also fell sharply to 11.3 degree Celcius from 14 degree Celcius on Saturday.
