Bhubaneswar, May 26: The Odisha government has sent as many as 500 tonnes of polythene sheets to cyclone Amphan-hit West Bengal today.
This information was shared by the State Chief Secretary on Twitter.
“The extremely severe cyclone Amphan has left many without roofs in WB. Our CM has advised to assist every way we can. The state requires temporary roofing materials. We are rushing 500 tonnes of 20*20 polythene immediately by trucks,” the Chief Secretary said in the Twitter.
Worth mentioning, the Odisha government sent 500 personnel of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force and Odisha Fire Service for assisting in road clearance, tree cutting and restoration work in Cyclone Amphan-hit West Bengal.
Cyclone Amphan that crossed through the West Bengal and Odisha coast on Wednesday caused minimum damage to the coastal areas of Odisha while it wreaked havoc in the neigbouring state Bengal.
