Angul: As the royal Bengal tigress ‘Sundari’ continues to dodge the tranquilising team and forest officials in Satkosia forest of Angul, Odisha forest department has requested its Madhya Pradesh counterparts to send experts from Kanha national park and Pench tiger reserve to capture the royal big that has unleashed panic among forest side villagers by killing two pwesrons and many domestic animals.
Two teams from Madhya Pradesh will arrive here in two or three days to join the tranquilising team to capture ‘Sundari’, Additional PCCF Sudarshan Panda said.
“The Madhya Pradesh government has agreed to send experts from the Kanha National Park and Pench Tiger Reserve. They will arrive at the Satkosia in 2-3 days and begin operation to capture Sundari,” Panda said.
Three teams of tranquilizing experts are trying their best to capture the tigress.
The tigress was located inside the hill forest at Baghamunda forest hill near Kumuri village, he added.
The tranquilising experts have already made three unsuccessful attempts in last two days and two nights. They also spent a sleepless night last night atop the tree to dart the big cat. The veterinary experts from OUAT have returned to Bhubaneswar due to repeated failure. However, the tranquilising team has not stopped the exercise.
