Odisha: Refund process of KALIA assistance kept in abeyance for Covid-19

Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: Odisha government has kept refund activities of KALIA assistance from ineligible beneficiaries in abeyance for the time being in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation and kharif crop operations “It has been decided to keep the refund activities of KALIA assistance from ineligible beneficiaries in abeyance, for the present,” said Directorate of Agriculture and Food Production in a letter. The directorate has also asked the chief district agriculture officers to inform the field extension functionaries accordingly. In July, the state government had asked the ineligible beneficiaries to return the money availed under Kalia Yojana. The government has asked around 50,000 people to return the money through a dedicated govt account number. About 51 lakh beneficiaries have availed assistance under KALIA Yojana in Odisha.
