Bhubaneswar: The State has recorded a polling percentage of 73.76 per cent in phase one of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections that was conducted on Thursday, informed Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar today.
“A total of 73.76% voting was recorded in the first phase polls in Odisha. Highest turnout was recorded in Nabarangpur Lok Sabha segment at 75.89%, followed by Kalahandi 75.82%, Koraput 74.77% and Berhampur 65.57%,” informed the CEO.
Four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats went to poll in the first phase.
The first phase polls was held in four Lok Sabha seats in Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Berhampur and Koraput along with 28 Assembly constituencies – Nuapada, Khariar, Unerkote, Jharigaon, Nabarangpur, Dabugam, Lanjigarh, Junagarh, Dharmagarh, Bhawanipatna, Narlam, Chhatrapur, Gopalpur, Berhampur, Digapandhi, Chikiti, Mohana, Paralakhemundi, Bissam Cuttack, Rayagada, Laxmipur, Kotpada, Jeypore, Koraput, Pottangi, Malkangiri and Chitrakonda.
