Odisha records 23% fall in overall revenue collection in first quarter of 2020-21

Bhubaneswar, July 9: Odisha has recorded 23% fall in overall revenue collection in the first quarter of the fiscal. Total revenue collection during the April-June period is estimated at Rs 8,204 crore against Rs 10,645 crore collected during the corresponding period of 2019-20 financial year. Odisha govt on Tuesday has announced expenditure rationalisation measures as part of austerity measures in view of the economic downturn due to Covid-19 pandemic. Administrative Departments have been asked to prioritize their expenditure needs in order to limit the expenditure within the resources available with priority to make fiscal space for Covid-19 related expenditure.
