Odisha police issues SOP for police stations to combat Covid-19

Bhubaneswar, July 28: Police DG Abhay has issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for police stations to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. The SOP was issued after a number of police personnel got infected by the deadly virus in different districts, mostly in Ganjam and Berhampur. Besides several police stations in the state were also temporality closed after cops were tested positive for Covid-19. “Proper transparent screen/glass be erected between visitor and reception personnel. Two-way intercom or some alternative method for communication be provided at the Reception Centre. The Reception area should be properly disinfected with hand sanitization for visitors who may be asked to sanitize their hand and wear face mask,” read the SOP. The SPO further asked reception personnel to santise themselves before leaving the reception area so that the chances of infection to other police personnel can either be avoided or minimised.
