Odisha: One killed and another injured after soil of limestone mine collapses in Sundargarh

Rourkela: A man was killed and another was injured after a portion of soil collapsed at an abandoned limestone mine at Hatibari in Sundargarh district, today. The deceased has been identified as Sadananda Surin (20).  The injured identified as Arabinda Lugun is currently undergoing treatment at Hatibari hospital. As per reports, the limestone mine of a private company is lying abandoned for past few years and villagers often visit the mine to extract limestone. Both the victims had been to the mine to extract limestone when a portion of soil caved in and both of them were trapped. Both were rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the Hatibari hospital, where Sadanada was declared received dead. Tension prevailed at the hospital as locals created ruckus alleging unavailability of doctors. The mob also locked the main gate of the hospital and staged dharna.
