Odisha: New voter list in January 2021

Bhubaneswar, Dec 4: Special Summary Revision of the electoral roll is continuing in the state as per schedule announced by Election Commission of India. With publication of Draft Electoral Roll on 16th November, 2020 the period of filling of claims and objections has started which will continue till 15thDecember, 2020 said CEO, Odisha Sushil Kumar Lohani, in a press conference held in his office today. A special campaign is being taken up on 5th and 6th of December, 2020 (Saturday and Sunday) for this exercise. During this period all the BLOs with revision related forms and Electoral roll copy will be available at their respective Polling Booths. Interested persons can obtain different Forms and file their applications to BLOs. Different activities those are part of the Revision Programme during this period include: Addition of new voters – especially those, who are turning 18 yrs on or before 01-01-2021, Ordinary residents of a place whose names are not in the Electoral roll, persons who have shifted to a new place on account of transfer or marriage  etc. Deletions of voters – Those voters who are either dead or shifted to another place and those voters having names at two different places. Correction of Entries–meant for electors who want to make correctionin their Elector details available in the Electoral Roll like correction of name, change of photo, date of birth, address, relationship status etc. Eligible persons can apply for above categories of requirements through specific applications i.e. addition of name in Form- 6, deletion of names in Form-7, modification of entry in the roll in Form-8 and for shifting of name within the constituency in Form 8 -(A) To add or delete or correct electoral details, one can contact the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Asst. ERO orcan contact locally to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who are generally Teachers /Anganwadi Workers attached to different polling stations.The relevant forms can be collected from either the office of EROs/AEROsor from BLOs and applications can be filed along with the necessary documents like photographs, residence proof and proof of date of birth etc. Online mode – One can visit www.nvsp.in or download the Voter Helpline mobile app and register himself / herselfand select the relevant form and apply online. All the documents can be uploaded in the online mode itself. They can also apply through ceoodisha.nic.in. Electoral rolls are also available on the website of CEO, Odisha www.ceoorissa.nic.in. One can visit these websites, download the Electoral roll of their area and check their names and other details. If their names are not available, they can apply through relevant forms. Voters with Electors Photo Identity Cards can visit www.nvsp.inand find their BLO, ERO details by searching through their EPIC numbers for any queries if any. After 15thof December, 2020 whatever claims & Objections have been received, will be enquired into regarding their genuineness and all the claims objections will be disposedofby 5th January, 2021 and the final list of Electors will be published on 15th January, 2021 after taking prior approval of the Election Commission.   The CEO made an appeal to the General Public to take advantage of this opportunity, and get them enrolled and rectify their details in the Electoral Roll during this period.
