Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched an online system for everything starting from applying for ration card to the sale of paddy.
The system is to provide four services which can be availed by people from the Citizen Services link provided on the official website of the Department i.e. www.foododisha.in.
Apply Online for New Ration Card, Register Online for Sale of Paddy, Apply Online for Fair Price Shop Dealership, and Online Deposit of Cost of Foodgrains under PDS – For Fair Price Shop Dealers Only, services have been included.
“The state Government is committed towards food security of all and 2.5 million people excluded from the NFSA has been covered under the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS),” said the CM.
The Chief Minister further said that more than 3.5 crore people across the state have been covered under food security. People from all over the state are directly connected to the department.
On the occasion, Naveen also unveiled the book ‘Making of a Food Secure Odisha’, which contains all the information on the vast changes that have taken place in Odisha over the last 20 years in the field of food security.
