Odisha: Man sets house on fire after wife refused to cook dog meat, held

Dhenkanal, Nov 30: In a bizarre incident, a man set his house on fire after his wife and mother refused to cook dog meat in Kankadahada area of Dhenkanal district, police said on Monday. The incident came to light after his wife and mother lodged a complaint against him at Kankadahada police station. According to the complaint, Shukadeb Pradhan of Kirtanpur village had brought a dog to his house in an inebriated state. He asked his wife and mother to kill the dog and cook its meat to which they refused A verbal fight erupted between the trios over the incident during which the dog ran away from the man's house. Irate over the incident, Shukadeb tried to attack his wife and mother who ran away in fear and took shelter at their neighbour’s house. Later, he set his house on fire.
