Puri, Oct 27: The special rituals for the holy month of Kartika began at Srimandir here on Tuesday. The Trinity will be adorned with Raidamodar Besa (attire) on the occasion. The Puspalak servitors will adorn Lord Jagannath and his iblings with Raidamodar Besa soon after the completion of routine rituals. Kartika is the holiest of all the months in the Hindu lunar calendar that usually overlaps with the months of October and November in the English calendar. During this period, a large number of devotees especially widows (Habishiali) come Puri to serve Lord Jagannath but this year devotees are not allowed to Srimandir due to Covid-19 pandemic.
