Odisha Hirakud Dam Reservoir opens 44 gates

Sambalpur, Aug 29: The water level has reached an alarming level in Hiruakud Dam Reservoir and the dam authorities have opened 44 sluice gates to release flood waters. As on Saturday morning, the inflow of water into the reservoir was 8.86 lakh cusec and outflow was 6.95 lakh cusec. Currently, the water level stood at 626.37 feet against the full reservoir level of 630 feet. Release of water through Munduli barrage was 9,10,825 cusec, 4,48,734 through Naraj barrage and 4,23,514 cusec through Jobra barrage.
