Cuttack, Jan 25: The Orissa High Court on Friday ordered a CBI probe into the Cuttack milk union fodder scam amounting to Rs 13 lakh. The move comes after an accused of the scam appealed the high court seeking a CBI probe into the matter citing involvement of a number of officials in the scam. According to report, the audit report of the Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (OMFED) in 2018 revealed a scam of Rs 13 lakh in Cuttack milk union. The OMFED administration suspended one store keeper Santosh Kumar Samal following the irregularities. However, the suspended employee wrote to CBI alleging involvement of more persons in the scam. As the CBI official did not pay heed to his letter, he latter approached the high court. Hearing his plea the high court ordered the CBI to probe into the alleged irregularities of the milk federation.
