70 to 50 percent salary of CM, ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats to be deferred for COVID-19

Bhubaneswar, March 31: In a bid to tackle Covid-19 the Odisha government has decided to pay less salary to the elected representatives and bureaucrats of the state. “There shall be a deferment of 70% in the gross salary, in respect of Chief Minister/Ministers/MLAs/ Chairperson of all Corporations and elected Representatives of all Local Bodies. There shall be a deferment of 50% in gross salary in respect of All India Service Officers i.e. IAS, IPS and IFS,” read an official notification of the state government. Officials said that order will come into force with immediate effect.
