Odisha: Govt doctors may have to work in Covid-19 private facilities in emergency

Bhubaneswar, July 24: In a bid to ensure availability of doctors in Covid-19 hospitals in the state, the health department has decided to deploy post PG doctors on bond service at Covid hospitals in emergency. Additional Chief Secretary of Health department PK Mohaptra has written a letter to principals of SCB, MKCG and VIMSAR medical colleges in this regard. The PG doctors on bond service will perform duty for 14 days in dedicated Covid Health Centres, Covid Hospitals and Covid Care Centres as per requirement followed by institutional quarantine of another 14 days. After mandatory institutional quarantine, they will be relieved from Covid duty to work either in the medical colleges or periphery and another team will be allowed to perform Covid duty. The department said that each doctor will be engaged in Covid duty for one month on rotation basis.
