Odisha govt allows political meetings and gatherings for by-polls in two assembly constituencies

Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: Odisha government today relaxed Covid-19 regulation for by-polls in Tirtol and Balasore Sadar assembly constituencies. The by-poll at both the assembly segments will be held on November 3. As per an order of the Special Relief Commissioner, political meetings and other functions/ gatherings in connection with the polls will be allowed within the jurisdiction of both the Assembly constituencies with certain conditions. In closed spaces, a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity will be allowed, with a ceiling of 200 persons. Wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing, provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash or sanitizer will be mandatory. In open spaces, keeping the size of the ground/ open space in view, the District Administration will give permission for gathering number of persons with strict adherence to physical distancing norms. The District Magistrate of the concerned district shall ensure strict enforcement of the conditions for holding the political meetings and other functions/ gatherings in connection with the by-polls.
