Odisha: First case reported with Virtual Police Station

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: First motor vehicle theft case reported at Virtual police station today. The Odisha Government on January 28 has set up a virtual police station, or e-police station, in Bhubaneswar to facilitate lodging of e-FIR in cases of motorcycle thefts. Police said that the complainant Manoranjan Sahu of Ganjam district lodged an complaint regarding theft of his motorcycle from Ganesh Market under Badabazar police limits. A case in this connection has been registered with the Badabazar police station. Police said that creation of the virtual police station is a part of state government’s 5T (transparency, teamwork, technology, timeframe and transformation) move.
