Odisha Fire Service personnel engaged in Amphan restoration work in Bengal return Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 5: As many as 372 personnel of Odisha Fire Service who had been to Bengal for cyclone Amphan restoration work today returned Odisha after 12 days. They were received at Odisha Fire and Disaster Response Institute, Naraj, Cuttack by DG, Fire Services, Satyajit Mohanty and other officials. All of them will undergo 14 days institutional quarantine as per government protocol and will be accommodated in Krupajal Engineering College campus and Revenue Officers Training Institute, Gothapatana Road in Bhubaneswar. “During the process they will also undergo required medical tests for COVID-19. The state government will bear all the medical expenses and accommodation,” said a police official. The teams were engaged in removing the trees which had fallen on different buildings/structures and huts. Till date, the teams have cleared 2550 fallen trees and electric poles at 717 places which were obstructing the communication in Kolkata city.
