Cuttack, Oct 24: In a bid to avoid administrative hardships and litigation, Odisha DGP Abhay has passed an order to withdraw the State Police Headquarters’ earlier order passed on 21.07.2017 that invited willingness of eligible Constables to appear in the written examination for promotion to the ASI (assistant sub-inspector) posts.
In his order bearing Memo No. 34175/Board/ Dtd. 23.10.2020, the Director General of Police (DGP) has mentioned, “In supersession to the State Police Headquarters letter No. 29517/Board Dt/21.07.17 and all consequential proceedings therof, this order is passed on due adherence to the provisions prescribed in the Odisha Police Service (Method of recruitment & conditions of service of Assistant Sub-Inspectors) order, 2020 for recruitment of Assistant Sub-Inspectors of police on this 23rd day of October, 2020.”
The Order has also mentioned, “Government has been pleased to make the order to regulate the method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police namely The Odisha Police Service (Method of recruitment & conditions of service of Assistant Sub-Inspectors) Order, 2020 Vide Government of Odisha, Home Deparftment Notification No.33854/D&A, dated 15/10/2020, wherein the entire selection process has been clearly enumerated removing the previous ambiguities”.
