Odisha DGP stresses upon reduction of pending case

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: DGP Abhay held a meeting with the CP, Range IGPs, DIGPs, DCPs and SPs through video conferencing at the State Police Headquarters, Cuttack and discussed thoroughly about several important and urgent issues of State Police.

At the outset, the DGP appreciated the good work done by the SPs especially in executing non-bailable warrants (NBWs) through special drive.

In this context, he praised the effort of SPs of Ganjam, Koraput and Khurda for their success in execution of long pending warrants within a stipulated period. He also appreciated the effort Malkangiri SP for ceasing huge cache of arms and ammunitions in the Maoist-dominated belt.

The DGP called upon the officers to be pro-active and sincere in implementing and executing different schemes and initiatives of Odisha Police. He also asked the SPs to be extra sincere in dealing with Assembly questions and timely submission of replies.

During the meeting, preparation for Assembly session scheduled to be commenced from February 14, Prompt submission of Assembly related replies to State Police Hdqrs, drive to reduce pendency of cases, Submission of all final form through CCTNS, timely submission of necessary records to Odisha High Court through AG Office, timely submission of compliances in CRLmp / CRLmc cases, timely submission of nominations for different Police Medals, timely submission of proposals for construction of women barrack in the districts and timely completion promotional Boards in the districts were discussed.

Abhay stressed on the full utilisation of CCTNS scheme in the State and called upon the SPs to give top priority to timely submission of Assembly questions and High Court Cases. The SPs were further asked to improve the quality of investigation and supervision.

Among others, ADGP Railways Pranabindu Acharya, ADGP (Hdqrs) VT Mishra, ADGP (L&O) Saumendra Priyadarsi and IGP (Modernisation) Rekha Lohani, IGP (Provisioning) Y Koel, IGP, SCRB Rajesh Kumar and IGP Crime AN Sinha were present.
