Odisha CM urges Prime Minister to distribute funds in advance to combat coronavirus

Bhubaneswar, March 20: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to distribute funds in advance to the States to combat coronavirus. Patnaik also urged Modi to pay atleast 50 days of wages to MGNREGS workers during a video conference related to preparedness of the State to tackle the deadly virus. The CM also urged economic package for various sectors and construction workers along with additional installments in PM Kisan for farmers. The CM appreciated Modi for restriction on international travel and air lifting Indian from affected areas. Patnaik also suggested urgent requirement to scale up testing facilities, both private and public free of cost and availability of protection equipments such as masks for Health Care Personnel and Critical Care equipment.
