Odisha CM richest Minister; Tusharkanti Behera poorest

Bhubaneswar: With assets worth over Rs 64.26 crore, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tops the list of being richest among Council of Ministers in the State.

As on March 31, 2019, the CM possesses property worth over Rs 64.26 crore, including movable property of around Rs 62, 66,663.93 and immovable property worth around Rs 63, 64, 15,261, reads a statement of assets of all Cabinet Ministers issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday.

Patnaik’s immovable property, including a farm land and a building at Tikrikhera in Faridabad worth Rs 10, 75, 51,071 and 2/3 share in property of Naveen Niwas valuing Rs 9,52,46,190 in Bhubaneswar are inherited from his mother late Gyan Patnaik. And, his 50% share in property inheritaed from his father late Biju Patnaik situated at APJ Abdul Kalam Road in New Delhi is valued at Rs 43, 36, 18,000.

While the CM remained the richest among the Council of Ministers, Sports and IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera emerged the poorest with total assets of Rs 26 lakh.

Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena remained the second richest with a property of Rs 9,92,44,775, including share of his wife and daughter. His assets have grown around Rs 4.5 crore in a year including movable property of Rs 1,60,30,775.

Health Minister Naba Kishore Das and his family possess cash of Rs 32 lakh, bank deposits of Rs 1 crore and fixed deposits of over Rs 2 crore. Moreover, he is the only Minister in the State Cabinet who possesses two licensed revolvers and a rifle.
