Odisha CM appeals CMs of other states to look after Odias stranded due to lockdown for Covid-19

Bhubaneswar, March 26: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appealed the CMs of other states to assist Odias stranded in their state due to nation-wide lockdown for Covid-19. Patnaik appealed the CMs to provide stranded people from Odisha with basic food, accommodation and security. “I will be very grateful if this message is passed on to all the District Collectors of your State. Odisha will bear whatever cost is needed for their safekeeping. At the same time I have also directed our district Collectors to assist persons in need from other States. Their cost will be met from Chief Minister's Relief Fund,” wrote Naveen in a letter to the CMs. Patnaik further wrote that the Odisha government has have put a monitoring team the Principal Secretary, Home Department to look after this and co-ordinate. “In case anyone from your State is stranded in Odisha and our system has not responded, kindly inform me directly. I'm always available,” the letter further mentioned.
