Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet today approved several proposals, including the ‘Khushi Yojana’ to provide free sanitary pads to school girls from Class-VI to XII across Odisha.
The State Government will spend Rs 466 crore in five years for providing sanitary pads to the girls. The scheme will benefit 17.25 lakh girl students between Class VI and Class XII across Odisha.
Students of Central schools and Jawaharlal Nehru will also be benefitted.
The Cabinet also allowed amendment of Odisha Homoeopathic Medical Education Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2013. In order to provide opportunity to accommodate Homoeopathic doctors who have crossed the age limit of 32 years in the process, there is a need to enhance the upper age limit for recruitment to 40 years.
