Bhubaneswar: BJP State unit president Basant Panda today said that the interim budget 2019-20 is historic and people friendly.
He said farmers and labourers working in unorganised sectors will be benefitted a lot.
“The interim Budget 2019-20 is historic and people friendly. It is also forward looking. It provides assistance to all sectors, including farmers and labourers particularly working in unorganised sectors, which need assistance,” said Panda in a press conference here today.
Panda said the budget was presented with big giveaways to the middle class, small farmers and the rural population.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal presented the budget for Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who was undergoing in the United States, in Lok Sabha today.
Goyal announced Pradahn Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in which small farmers will get Rs 6,000 directly in their bank accounts. Those small farmers who have less than two acres will get a support of Rs 6,000.
A pension scheme for workers in the unorganised sector with a monthly income of up to Rs 15,000 too was announced. They will have an assured monthly pension of Rs 3,000 after they retire at 60.
