Odisha Assembly adjourned twice till 11.30 am

Bhubaneswar: The State Assembly was adjourned twice till 11.30 am due to uproarious scenes created as Opposition BJP members insisted for a discussion on law and order situation in the State.

As the House met for the day, Opposition Leader Pradipta Kumar Naik stood at his chair and urged the Speaker to suspend Question Hour and allow members to hold discussions on law and order situation. A day after a firing incident occurred in Kendrapara, a murder was reported at Patnaikia Chhak, he noted.

As Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro did not allow, BJP members rushed into the well of the House and shouted slogans.

Unable to run proceedings, the Speaker adjourned the House at 10.33 for 10 minutes and then till 11.30 minutes.
