Bhubaneswar: Now, the Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda will be connected with Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raipur, Hyderabad and Delhi in Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik-3 (UDAN) scheme.
Under the UDAN-3, Bhubaneswar will also be connected to Varanasi, Rourkela, Kalaikunda and Jagadalpur, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in a press conference.
Additionally, the new airport at Rourkela will be connected to Raipur and Bhubaneswar under the UDAN-3.
Pradhan said the Central Government has commissioned upgradation and development of existing terminal and a new integrated terminal 3 at a cost of over Rs 1050 crore.
“A total amount of over Rs 160 crore has been sanctioned for development of airports at Jharsuguda, Jeypore, Utkela and Rourkela, taking the cumulative allocation to over Rs 1,200 crore for development of airports and air connectivity in Odisha since 2014,” said Pradhan.
