Bhubaneswar: Former Agriculture and Cooperation Minister and senior BJD leader Damodar Rout today raked up another issue of corruption alleging that a scam to the tune of Rs 700 crore in Cooperation department putting the Naveen Patnaik Government in a fix.
He said a massive corruption was taken place in the form disbursement of agriculture loan to farmers and purchase and disbursement of computes to 700 cooperative societies across the State.
The former Minister, who was unceremoniously dismissed from the Council of Minister by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in December last year, said though he had ordered a probe into the irregularities nothing tangible but in vain.
Earlier, Rout alleged irregularities to the tune of Rs 30 crore in purchase of polythene for Omfed milk packets during the tenure of present Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy and that the Rs 100 crore sapling scam.
Meanwhile, Cooperation Minister Surya Narayan Patro dared Rout to provide facts to substantiate his allegations of corruption.
