Bhubaneswar, April 18: Odia playwright, theater artist, and film actor Sachi Das passed away on Thursday after battling a prolonged illness at the age of 88.
Renowned for his multifaceted talents, he adorned the stage as an actor, director, playwright, and stage artisan within the state. Throughout his career, Das portrayed roles of zamindars and refined family figures in both films and serials.
His illustrious career was adorned with numerous accolades, including the esteemed Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja Samman, recognizing his profound impact on the realm of performing arts. Additionally, his exceptional acting prowess was honored with the prestigious Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Award in 2018.
