Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader and former Brahmapur MLA Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik, who was denied a berth in the Rajya Sabha despite an earlier promise, on Saturday said the decision taken by party chief Naveen Patnaik is very right and he is not unhappy.
“I was not been given a ticket. Party supremo Naveen Patnaik’s decision is right. I am happy. I will work for the party (BJD) as a disciplined worker,” Chyau Patnaik told reporters.
It may be noted that BJD supremo had earlier promised to sent Chyau Patnaik to the Upper House of Parliament when he and his supporters complained against denial of a ticket to fight polls from his old Brahmapur Assembly seat during the last general elections.
Thereafter, it has been seen than the BJD leader took part in many party activities, including poll campaigning at different places in the district, since then.
Chyaputnaik had own the Brahmapur Assembly seat for five consecutive times since the election year of 1995.
