Normal life hit in Baliguda NAC due to flash floods

Bhubaneswar: Flash floods have severely hit normal life in Baliguda Notified Area Council (NAC) in Kandhamal district, according to reports.
Flash floods have been caused due to incessant rains. Now, rainwater has entered most of the houses in Ward 6 of the NAC. Many houses have reportedly been damaged. Road communication has also been snapped as water is flowing at a height of two feet on the National Highway 59 passing through the Baliguda town. Traffic on Kandhamal-Kalahandi-Rayagada routes has been stopped as a culvert at Bataguda was washed away in floodwater yesterday .
Residents have urged the NAC and the district authorities to swing into action and ensure early discharge of water from the area.
