Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: The Commissionerate Police today imposed restrictions on public movement on roads near the Odisha Assembly. The restrictions have been imposed following the three suicide attempts near the Assembly in the last five days, said police. Movement of pedestrians has been restricted from 120 Battalion Square towards Rabindra Mandap Square, from Keshari Talkies Road towards 120 Battalion Square and from Jayadev Bhawan towards the Assembly. Also, public vehicles like auto-rickshaws and taxis will not be allowed to halt at any place on these routes. The restriction will remain in force till the conclusion of the current Assembly session. People coming from 120 Battalion Square towards AG Square along the Assembly Road will be diverted to AG Square via Power House Square and the Heads of Departments building. Those coming from Keshari Talkies will be diverted to AG Square via Treasury Office and the road behind IG Park. Three temporary check posts have been put up in front of the OMC Office, Keshari Talkies and Jayadev Bhawan to monitor public movement. The movement of the staffers of Lok Seva Bhawan, Assembly, government and Odisha Police personnel as well as the media representatives will be allowed on these routes after verification of their identity cards.
