Bhubaneswar, Jan 17: While campaign is going on in media demanding change in the state Congress leadership, Jitendra Singh, AICC leader in charge of Odisha, today ruled out such possibility. He warned the party leaders of stern disciplinary action against unauthorised statement in the media on the party affairs. "Niranjan Patnaik is still the Pradesh Congress Committee president and will continue as such. The party will work under his leadership. Stringent disciplinary action will be taken against those making statement in the media without permission", said the AICC leader. " Strong action will be taken against those who are breaching the party's discipline and making statement in the media. They can make statement in media on the permission of the PCC president", said he. A section of the party had demanded the change in PCC leadership a few days ago in the wake of the party's debacle in 2019 general elections an replace him with the party MLA Md Moquim. Senior leaders Kanhu Charan Lenka and Hemananda Biswal had also supported the demand for revamping of the state Congress. However, Singh today made it clear that Niranjan Patnaik would continue as the PCC chief. The AICC in charge of Odisha said he would tour various districts and blocks in an effort to unite and strengthen the party.
