New Delhi, Jan 17: A Delhi court today issued fresh death warrants on 1 February against the four convicts in the 16 December gang rape and murder case. The development came on the day President Ram Nath Kovind rejected the mercy plea of one of the four men convicted in the 2012 gang rape and murder case. The execution, which was initially scheduled to take place on 22 January at 7am, will now take place at 6am. It may be recalled that Mukesh Singh, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Singh were convicted by the Patiala House Court for raping and killing a paramedical student of Delhi in a running bus in 2012 December. However, a minor convict was released from jail after serving sentence for three years.
