New Delhi, Jan 28: Mukesh Singh, one of the four convicts in Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, levelled a serious charge of sexual harassment against Tihar Jail authorities. Mukesh alleged that he was forced to have unnatural physical relation with Akshyay Kumar Singh, another Nirbhaya case convict, in the jail. However, Mukesh did not agree to it. That's why he was severed beaten up in the jail. He, therefore, did not have sound sleep in night for five years out of panic. The Nirbhaya case convict had filed a petition in Supreme Court challenging rejection of his mercy petition by the President of India. Besides, he had also sought a stay on the death warrant issued by the lower court to be executed on February 1. Mukesh had averred in his petition that the President of India had not considered his mercy petition properly. On the other hand, father of Pawan Gupta, another convict in Nirbhaya case, had alleged that the lone witness in the case was gained over. However, a Delhi court has dismissed the petition. While the Supreme Court has rejected the review petitions filed by Mukesh and Pawan, two other convicts- Vinay Sharma and Akshay Kumar Singh- have not filed review petitions yet. Therefore, uncertainty prevails over the hanging of the four Nirbhaya case convicts on February 1.
