Bhubaneswar: Two days after sitting BJD MLA from Ghasipura in Keonjhar district and School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra challenged OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik to contest against him from the constituency in the general elections, the latter has reportedly accepted the challenge.
Keonjhar district Congress committee president Ratikant Pradhan today informed that the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president is likely to contest from Ghasipura and Bhandaripokhari in the ensuing Assembly elections.
On Thursday, Minister Patra said that the people of Keonjhar do not know who is Niranjan Patnaik and alleged that those who are out to tarnish his image have the advantage of TV and print media.
And he dared them to campaign and contest against him from Ghasipura.
In the last Assembly elections, Patra had won Ghasipura by about 88,000 votes.
