Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: New Zealand registered a series sweep over India after winning the third match at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui today.
In the third and final One Day International (ODI), KL Rahul made an impressive 112 to help India recover from a sluggish start and post a challenging 296 for seven against New Zealand.
Mayank Agarwal with 1, captain Virat Kohli with 9 and Prithvi Shaw (40) and in-form Shreyas Iyer with 62 took India to a challenging total.
In reply, the Kiwis kept on piling runs easily and chased the target in the 48th over by loosing only five wickets. For the home team, Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls and Collin de Grandhomme scoring half centuries.
Ross Taylor is the Player of the Series for amassing 194 runs in the three innings and being dismissed only once.
Henry Nicholls, Player of the Match, said “To come out here and make it 3-0, which is something we wanted to achieve before the start of the series, but I guess heading into today knowing that again it’s a chance for us to put up a good performance, it’s nice to be standing here after a good run-chase”.
