Naveen's advice to media to stress on positivity welcomed by all

Bhubaneswar, 12/12: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's advice to the media to stress on the positivity has been welcomed by all sections of the society, especially the intellectuals. " The media has much influence on the society. Be it electronic or print media, always emphasis should be laid on positivity. Several positive incidents are happening in the society, in the state and in the country. These incidents should be highlighted. This will inspire the society", Naveen had said while addressing annual day function of Prameya Odia daily and News 7 Odia TV channel here on Tuesday. {"id":21850,"sizeSlug":"large"} Welcoming the chief minister's call to media, several intellectuals said it's high time that the media should change their focus. A lot of positive things are happening in Odisha." If the media highlights the positive changes, it will help change the image of Odisha and will attract the investors to the state", said an intellectual. {"id":21851,"sizeSlug":"large"} Odisha was earlier known for negative things like poverty,  child sale , starvation death. " We should now highlight the positive aspects  that are the driving force for the rapid economic development of Odisha. Besides,  Odisha has earned fame in the field of human resource development. Several celebrities in various spheres hail from this state", said an accomplished social activist and educationist. A senior media person said of course , media should also throw light on the lapses of the government. "But that does not mean that it will only high light negative aspects. Besides, pointing out the dark side of programme implementation, it should also make the people aware of the unique and bright side of any programme ", he said. Significantly,  this is the age of changes. Naveen had said in his speech, "Changes have come in all spheres, be it in economy, social trends or life style. These changes are taking place very fast. So we have to proceed by keeping pace with new situations. Media can prepare ourselves to accept the new situation".
