Naveen reiterates his demand for inclusion of "Ahimsa" in the Preamble of the Constitution

Bhubaneswar, 19/12: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik today reiterated his demand for inclusion of the word " Ahimsa"(non-violence) in the Preamble of the Constitution. This demand was put forth at the second meeting of national committee on the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi today. " Ahimsa was India's most powerful message to the world. Ahimsa has made our freedom struggle different from others", said Naveen addressing the meeting. "Ähimsa is the way to peace, development and equality. Hence, the younger generation should adopt the non violent means of Mahatma Gandhi to achieve development", he said, "It will be the best tribute to Gandhiji on his 150th birth anniversary, if the word Ahimsa is added to the Preamble of the Indian Constitution", Naveen reiterated.
