Bhubaneswar: BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has now reached Sanakhemundi in Ganjam district to campaign for party’s candidates for Aska Lok Sabha and seven Assembly constituencies, which will go to poll in the second phase on April 18.
According to reports, the Chief Minister reached Mohanala by a helicopter and went to conduct road shows by a high-tech bus in villages under the Sanakhemundi constituency. He is scheduled to attend a public meeting in the area also.
Later, the ruling party chief would go to conduct road shows in villages under the Aska Assembly constituency.
Notably, Patnaik had started his political career by winning the Aska Parliament constituency in 1998 and then becoming a Union Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government. The Aska PC consists of seven Assembly seats namely Polsara, Kabisuryanagar, Khallikote, Aska, Surada, Sanakhemundi and Hinjli. Patnaik is contesting polls from his old Hinjli seat this year also.
Adequate security arrangements have been made at different places for smooth visit of the Chief Minister, said reports.
