Bhubaneswar: BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday filed nomination papers for the Hinjili Assembly constituency under the Aska Parliamentary constituency in Gajam district in the presence of a host of party leaders at 11.10 am
Patnaik was the first candidate of the BJD to file nomination papers. He filed papers at the Chhatrpur Sub-Collector’s office. Returning Officer and Assistant Sub-Collector Sachidananda Nayak received papers from Patnaik.
Aska Lok Sabha MLA Pramila Bisoi, Berhampur Lok Sabha candidate Chandrasekhar Sahu, Brahmapur MLA Ramesh Chandra Chyaupatnaik, Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, Brahmapur MLA candidate Bikram Keshari Panda were present, among many others. Over a thousand of BJD workers were present.
Earlier, Patnaik had visited the Maa Taratarini Temple at Purushottampur and offered prayers.
Notably, Patnaik has won the seat four times since the year 2000.
