Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today fielded Minakshi Mahanta as party’s candidate from Champua Assembly constituency of Keonjhar district.
Mahanta is said to a close confidant of outgoing MLA Sanatan Mahakud.
However, suspense continues on the candidates for Kendrapara and Baripada Assembly constituencies.
With this, BJD has declared candidates for 145 candidates of the 147-strong Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielded Murali Sharma from Champua Assembly constituency.
With this, the BJP has announced candidates for 145 out of the total 147 Assembly seats in the State. The saffron party is yet to announce its MLA candidates for Kakatpur and Kendrapara seats.
The State goes to the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on April 11, 18, 23 and 29.
