Bhubaneswar: Even as speculation is rife that veteran leader and former minister Damodar Rout is likely to join BJP, BJD leader and Rout’s son Sambit today said that he has nothing say about his father’s decision.
“He (my father) is now free from any party. He reserves right to take his own decision. But am doing for the BJD as disciplined member as per the direction of our party president Naveen Patnaik.” Sambit said.
“I am waiting what kind of encouragement I would get from the party”, he added.
Notably, speculation is flying thick and fast that Rout, a seven-time MLA is joining BJP after he met some national leaders including Dharmendra Pradhan in Delhi. Rout has also hinted at contesting from Paradip if things go down well with him in BJP.
