More than 600 bottles of cough syrup seized in Sambalpur, seven arrested

Sambalpur, Feb 20: The Special task Force of Sambalpur police today conducted multiple raids and arrested seven persons including three kingpins for smuggling of cough syrup. Police have also seized more than 600 bottles of cough syrup from the accused. The accused have been identified as Nikhil Munda (29), Sakuntala Meher (26), Biju Mallick (21), Roshan Meher (28), Sameer Swagat (22), Shantanu Dash (28) and Durbadal Kumbhar (28). Police said that the informant of the racket has been provided with cash reward. “We urge people to provide us information about such activities and we will keep their identity secret. Information can be provided either through WhatsApp or direct call to the Sambalpur SP on 9438916550,” said a police official.
