Model Code of Conduct lifted in Tirtol and Balasore

Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: The Chief Electoral Officer of Odish today lifted the model code of conduct imposed for by-polls in Tirtol and Balasore Sadar assembly constituencies. Polling for both the constituencies were held on November 3 while results were declared on November 10. “The results in respect of Bye-election to 38-Balasore and 102-Tirtol (SC) Assembly Constituencies have been declared by the respective Returning Officers, the Model Code of Conduct has ceased to be in operation with immediate effect,” read a letter from the CEO. BJD has won both the seats in the by-polls. Bijay Shankar Das defeated BJP candidate Rajkishore Behera in Tirtol while BJD candidate Swarup Das has defeated BJP’s Manas Kumar Dutta in Balasore.
