Mo Sarkar effect: Police ASI suspended on charges of bribery in Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna, July 4: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI )of Ampani police station in Kalahandi district has been suspended on charges of demanding bribe from a complainant. This was informed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Dharmagarh, Laxmi Narayan Panda on Saturday. The suspended officer has been identified as Ramesh Patnaik. According to Panda, a land dispute case was filed at Amapani police station. The complainant received a opinion call under the Mo Sarkar initiative and apprised that the accused ASI had demanded bribe to settle the dispute. The district Superintendent of Police (SP) initiated a probe into the matter and the investigation revealed that the allegation was true following which the officer has been suspended, he said.
