Bhubaneswar: Justice MM Das Commission, probing the multi-crore chit fund scam, submitted its 6th interim report to the State Government on Friday. The Commission handed over its report to Home department.
In the 6th phase verification of affidavits, the Commission has identified 1,43,463 small investors.
As many as 6 lakh depositors have submitted their affidavits late. All the affidavits will be made digitization to identify real small depositors. The big investors will be identified after the verification process of small depositors got over, the Commission added.
The identification process would take more two-three years to complete, the Commission said.
The Commission had submitted its fifth interim report on July 13 last year in which it has identified about 50,000 small investors and issued notice to 486 chit fund companies.
The Commission has so far identified 3,61,817 small investors and recommended the State government to take measures to refund money. The State Government had set up a ` 300-crore corpus fund in 2013 to refund small depositors.
The State Government had formed the Commission of inquiry on July 9, 2013.
